President’s Letter

Fellow Skålleagues!

Thanks to the West Palm Beach Marriott for the great food and service they provided us for our February dinner meeting. We missed having our new President Lisa Hamilton with us – unfortunately Lisa was out of the country on business in Marrakesh.

We started the dinner with a video presentation and update on the Hospitality, Tour and Travel Industry by our member Jorge Pesquera, President of Discover the Palm Beaches. Jorge gave us very interesting and exciting information about what is happening in Palm Beach County and the State of Florida including plans for promoting the area in the future and working with new hotel development.

During the dinner we honored our long time member and wonderful friend Paul Cook who passed away on January 15, 2018. We showed a video with pictures of Paul taken during Skål events and with member's during his 17 years in our Skål club. The power point video presentation is attached to this email for you to look at. Paul was a board member and the club's Secretary for many years. He will be remembered and will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with Paul and his family.

You have received the ballot to vote for the 2017 Venue of the Year Award. Please return it with your selection for the venue choice during February so we can announce the winner at our March 6th dinner meeting. We have some great events planned for this year here are the upcoming venues:
