Greetings Fellow Skalleagues!
Welcome Back! We hope you had a wonderful summer.
What a great September meeting at The Chesterfield Hotel on Palm Beach! The Chesterfield served as a beautiful back-drop for our “kick-off” to the Fall Season. The ambiance, food and service were impeccable. Members and guests in attendance indicated that it was one of the most enjoyable meetings this year. Those in attendance shared anecdotes (many of those comments from the past) of good times in Skal. The feeling of friendship and good times certainly was enjoyed by all!
Our opening toast was presented by Scotty Cassidy and the closing toast by Paul Salamone, guest Skalleague from Washington, DC.

We are honored to be nominated for Skal International Club of the Year for the second time! Our presentation has been submitted and the winner(s) will be announced during the Skal International World Congress in Sydney, Australia. The World Congress is being held the first week of October. Wayne Lampert will be in attendance.
Our Summer Social was held on August 19, with approximately 30 people in attendance. Our hosts from Water Taxi, Briny’s Irish Pub, and China Grill provided a fun evening for all in attendance with delectable dishes & discounted drinks! Those in attendance also enjoyed a beautiful, scenic tour of the Ft. Lauderdale Intracoastal Waterway with a little history of the area provided by the Water Taxi staff. A very special thank you to Beth Cohen, Sharon Malone, James Hansen, Dick Stafford, Carlos Banks and the entire staff of each of our hosts. … Watch for details of our next Social, to be held in the Palm Beach area!!
Special Request Members have recently received an email request from Mok Singh to respond to the Skal Task Force questionnaire. Our club has just sent each member an email providing insight. Please take the time to review and respond!
Nominating Committee:Dick Stafford is chairing this committee and will submit the nominations for the New Officer’s and Board of Director’s, in November.
James Hansen is offering a NEW Member incentive. Two nights @ the Hyatt Place to the member who brings 1 NEW member into the club by the December meeting. Full details of the offer can be obtained by contacting James.

Skal Ft. Lauderdale & Palm Beaches members are invited to participate in a golf tournament / dinner hosted by Gold Coast Travel Industry Associates on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 @ the Delray Beach Golf Club. The “Best Ball” tournament will have a shotgun start @ 1:30 PM. The price is: $27 golf only / $52 golf & sit-down dinner with the members of GCTIA. So, get your foursome together for a great afternoon of fellowship!
