President’s Letter
October 20, 2015
A special thanks to Cecilia Hudnet for the outstanding evening we all enjoyed at the Chesterfield Hotel
for our October dinner meeting. The poolside reception was great and the food and service at the dinner
were excellent. We had several potential new members with us and during the dinner we had the privilege of
formally inducting Angie Franjul-Garcia as a new member of our Skal Club
Carlos Banks will be representing our club at the World Congress in Spain the last week of October where the
winner of the 2014-2015 Skal International Club of the Year will be announced. We will all be anxiously awaiting
the results and look forward to celebrating on the November 17th dinner cruise!
James Hansen is working on obtaining auction items for the Holiday Party and several members have already
responded to the letter that the board sent to everyone requesting their assistance in helping obtain items
for the auction. We have had great success in the past years with certificates for hotel stays, apparel,
wine & food baskets, theater tickets, sporting event tickets, artwork, holiday gift items, certificates for
meals, green fees and golf lessons, etc. Any type of donation will be accepted and your charitable gift will
help raise funds for Skål International Ft. Lauderdale & Palm Beaches and its charitable organizations.
Our upcoming dinners for the remainder of the year are:
November 17, 2015 – thanks to Erica Gregory, we are going on a dinner cruise on Windridge
Yachts based in Ft Lauderdale. This will be a great event to bring guests and potential members to!!
December 16, 2015 – this is on Wednesday and we will be returning to Benvenuto’s in Boynton
Beach for our annual Holiday Dinner Party and Auction.
