The June 21, 2005 meeting of the Palm Beach SKAL Board of Directors was called to order at 5:10PM.
BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Richard Stafford, Paul Alterman, Michael Gulotty, Carlos Banks
OTHERS PRESENT: Cindy Christen, Stefan Richter, Sandy Saposnick, Wayne M. Lampert and Lee Smolinski.
ABSENT: Paul Cook
Secretaries Report: Minutes of the March meeting were unanimously approved. Wayne Lampert was thanked for taking the minutes last month.
Treasurers Report: Paul Alterman presented the treasurers report. A correction was noted that a check for $770.85 was
not listed in disbursements. The corrected cash on hand was $ 6938.10 on May 31, 2005. The treasurer's report, with a correction,
was unanimously accepted.
It was noted that the April dinner bill and the golf shirts from last year were not yet billed. Both bills were presented at the
meeting.
SIUSA Representatives Report: Carlos Banks reported on his meeting with Francis Purvey about the possible formation of the
Ft. Lauderdale Club.
Region IV Summer Congress, Jacksonville August 25-28, 2005. The SIUSA Board will be meeting August 27, 2005.
Program Report:
Program: Mike Gulotty gave a report on the golf tournament on July 9, 2005. The golf tournament will be held at the Westchester
Country Club in Boynton Beach. The cost is $75.00 per person which includes golf, golf cart and the luncheon at the conclusion
of the tournament.
There will be a summer picnic for members and their families on August 6, 2005. Lee Smolinski has offered us the use of his home
for the picnic. Mike Gulotty will secure all of the food for the picnic. The cost of the will be picnic will be $12.00 per person
for the food. Members will be responsible for bringing their own beverages.
Lee Smolinski presented a weekend cruise on NCL's Norwegian Jewel on November 5-6, 2005. This is a brand new ship. The cost per
person for an inside cabin is $139.00 per person double occupancy, an outside cabin is $149.00 per person double occupancy, and a
balcony cabin is $199.00 per person double occupancy. Lee will see about reserving a specialty restaurant for group.
Membership: Carlos Banks report that the membership of Lou Frazer was being processed.
Welfare: Charles Bieser has eye surgery
Congresses: Skål World Congress will be held in Zagreb / Dubrovnik Croatia on
October 16-21, 2005
Special: Dick Stafford spoke about the need for auctions items for the golf tournament.
Other Business: At the general meeting we were glad to see Scotty Cassidy back with us after his knee replacement surgery.
